The Circus-y Weekend

We had a very fun packed weekend that I have been wanting to blog about. I had a "me" day the entire day and night Friday (I was gone from around 8am-8pm). Thank you to my brave and wonderful husband. My ALMOST favorite moment was when I got home Friday night, he collapsed on the couch, all life drained from his face, and said something like, "I just want to sit here, I am exhausted." MY POINT EXACTLY! I am so thankful for him and that he knows how I feel. :)))

Anyway, that night he cooked them dinner, and then pitched a tent upstairs and watched "Aladdin" with the girls and they slept upstairs. SO FUN. They had the best time. When they woke up, we went to breakfast at our favorite place and to the CIRCUS! Woohooo! They had never been to the circus before and loved most of it. They were a little timid (Chloe A LOT) with the clowns. Here's some pics....

THE BIG DATES

Two dates down, and one to go! Justin has a big job the week of Valentine's Day. He has three girls to take out and treat like princesses. I know that most little girls have a very special relationship with their daddies, but I think our two little girls are two of the luckiest girls in the world. God knew what He was doing giving us two girls. Everyone says that Justin needs a boy.....I'm just telling ya.....I think he's got it pretty good with these girls. He couldn't love them more and goes out of his way to make everything special for them. Each of them gets their special date with him and it started last night.

Chloe went first. She chose to go play at Chuck E. Cheese and then eat at McDonalds. That was her immediate response when he asked her where she wanted to go. This was her first year to go. Charli didn't start til she was 4, but Chloe knew Charli and Justin were going out, so she couldn't be left out. They had a blast!

Charli is on her date right now with Justin. Charli is much fancier in her requests. She insists on dressing up and she has started the tradition of wearing her Christmas dress again for her Valentine's date with her Dad. Justin dresses up equally as much to make it special for her. She decided the most imporant thing to her tonight was to have chocolate cake. So they went to Cheesecake factory for their dinner and dessert. It really is so precious to watch with Charli. She really looks forward to the date and is soooo excited all week waiting to go. Chloe doesn't quite get it yet, but got it enough to be jealous tonight when Charli and Justin left. Gotta be honest.....I was a little jealous too :) Not to worry, my date comes soon too.

tiny ballerina

Well now I have two ballerinas. Anything Charli does, Chloe wants to do. We've spent the last year hearing, "I want to do baby ballet, soooooooo bad." So for Christmas, Chloe got a ballet class for 2 year olds. It is a fun class to watch. What a cutie she is!

Snowballs of fun...

Wanted to share the beautiful snow we got here. Here's some pics of us playing today....so fun! We all had a big snowball fight. Justin and I got a little too into it (imagine that), and of course, I lost....he's a giant!

Had to end the afternoon fun with hot cocoa and a cookie.

The Fashion-istas!

Well I owe an explanation to the few of you who have been badgering me about how long its been since I blogged. Here it is.......CHLOE DOESN'T NAP! She's two and a half and has stopped napping. I had about 6 months of bliss when Charli started afternoon pre-k.....Charli went to school, Chloe napped, and Mom got things done! Now as I attempt to get things done, this cute little girl stands at my side and really and truly says about once a minute (and sometimes more), "Mommy, are done yet? Mommy are you done yet? Mommy will you please play with me?" Those big brown eyes stare up at me. I know that won't last long, so mommy plays. I do get about 30 minutes of freedom to work on children's church stuff while the fabulous Wonder Pets keep her attention. Sooooo....all that said, I will try to keep blogging. I do like it, but I like to do it alone, unbothered, where I can have a complete thought. Hmmmmm....don't think that will happen for awhile. So if the blogs are shorter, less frequent, or less coherent....please excuse. :)

Now, back to the title. Charli and Chloe have become quite the little fashionistas lately. Thanks to both Nana's, they are very decked out with new duds after Christmas. Even before Christmas, when I would try to help Charli pick out clothes for school, if I dared to pick out some sweat pants or tennis shoes, she would quickly point out to me, "Mommy, those aren't very "fashion-y." So after Christmas when they got wear their new clothes, boots, and "capes" (aka coats), she was very pleased with how "fashion-y" she was. She has worn those boots EVERYDAY since Christmas and asks to wear the "cape" everyday.

This is Chloe with her milk....This is Chloe when Mommy just tried to take the milk for just a second to take a picture....

Aren't they too cute?

Twas the Week Before Christmas

We have had 5 parties and 3 Christmas performances this week! It was such a fun week.....and now its almost Christmas. This month has flown by and I am trying not to think about it almost being over. Justin and I are truly savoring every Christmas moment with our girls at age 2 & 5. We know 3 & 6 will be different and these tiny years won't last for long. Every tiny moment and detail about Christmas is huge to them. I love the magic and wonder of Christmas with them.

I will try to keep the pictures limited. I want to post a couple pictures from each significant party or performance of the week (starting up top with the Christmas pj pic with the tree....my favorite every year).
The first party was Charli's ballet/tap Christmas parents' recital and party. She's my cutie patootie ballerina :)

Charli had her school party and Christmas performance. Her teacher made the entire class these sweatshirts with their handprints as antlers. They were adorable and I loved watching her.

Christmas Sunday - the girls all dressed up and ready to go to church.

These are my angels in my preschool class. We had the girls dress as angels, the boys as shepherds and the two year olds as lambs. THEY WERE SO ADORABLE!! We had a fabulous performace today! I don't have any pictures of the actual performance (or of Chloe as a lamb) yet because I couldn't take pictures while directing the kiddos. My friends will get those pictures to me and I will post them later. I love what I do at my church and I love all these kids!

Here we have our "Happy Birthday Jesus" party after their performance. Very....fun.....day.

Baby its cold outside!

I love this season. I even like the cold (not when I have to stand outside in it, but it makes it feel more Christmasy). My little bundles have liked bundling up too. Had to share them all looking all warm and snuggly as we go on Christmas walks through the neighborhood to look at lights. Its a tradition Justin started when Charli was 2 and I was pregnant. Every night after dinner I would pass out on the couch exhausted and he would take Charli on a walk around our neighborhood in Edmond while I napped. So now we all go (or he takes them both and I still collapse....haha).
The ocassional cup of hot chocolate afterwards always warms them up :)
